Stat of the Week: December 11, 2020

eCommerce is a big winner in 2020. But so is mobile commerce.

Across retail and all economic segments, one of the biggest stories of 2020 is the rapid adoption of digital commerce. Take Lululemon, for example, which saw its overall DTC revenue increase 94%, which represents 42.8% of total revenue compared with 26.9% a year ago.

And while Lululemon benefitted from being an athleisure port in a work-from-home storm, mobile commerce has also seen staggering growth as consumers made purchases in 2020 at projected rates of shoppers in 2024. That brings us to our Stat of the Week, which looks around the world and sees just how much more—25% year-over-year, in fact—shoppers spent on in-app purchases alone. The answer: $112 billion!
